August 1 - August 2
Free

Looking for a fun, free family day out in Brisbane?

Join QPAC for Clancestry for Kids, a vibrant weekend of creativity, culture and hands-on fun as part of QPAC’s Clancestry* festival. Taking over South Bank’s Cultural Forecourt on 1 and 2 August, this free event celebrates First Nations art, stories and community through a packed program of activities for children and families.

Clancestry for Kids

Kids can enjoy live performances, circus workshops, face painting, arts and crafts, interactive games and cultural experiences designed to spark imagination and curiosity. Highlights include Birmba, a lively First Nations theatre work filled with music, storytelling and colourful rainforest characters, as well as hands-on circus activities with Flipside Circus.

Clancestry for Kids

Families can also explore the TribalLink Cultural Discovery Van, create their own mini dilly bag with Queensland Museum’s Dilly Bag Lab, join creative activities with Deadly Kindies, and take part in a fun hide-and-seek adventure around the festival grounds. Throughout the weekend, children will have opportunities to learn, play and connect with First Nations culture in engaging and age-appropriate ways.

Clancestry for Kids

Whether you’re making art, discovering stories, trying a new circus trick or simply soaking up the atmosphere, Clancestry for Kids offers something for all ages to enjoy.

Best of all, it’s completely free!
