SEAFM’s Build A Boat Regatta
SEA FM’s Build-A-Boat Regatta is back!
Get ready for one of the Sunshine Coast’s most fun (and slightly chaotic!) community events as SEA FM’s Build-A-Boat Regatta returns to Golden Beach for its fifth year.
📅 Saturday 24 October 2026
⏰ 10am–12pm
📍 Golden Beach
The challenge is simple: build your own boat, gather your crew and see if you can actually make it float!
No fancy boat-building skills required. Over the years, crews have created their masterpieces from everything from pallets and plastic drums to milk bottles, water containers and even blow-up mattresses.
Then comes the best bit — launching them into the water and racing for glory!
Hosted by SEA FM’s Elly & Taz, there’ll be plenty of laughs, action and homemade boats battling it out, with $1,500 in major prizes plus $500 in bonus prizes up for grabs.
Families are welcome to come down, cheer on the crews and enjoy all the action from the shoreline – or round up your family and friends and build a boat of your own.
It’s creative, competitive, wonderfully unpredictable and a great morning out by the water.
SEA FM’s Build-A-Boat Regatta 2026 is proudly supported by IFYS – Make a difference in a child’s life.
