Small Fry Rock’s first show of the year is with Tim Freedman. Tim is the lead singer, songwriter and pianist in legendary Australian band The Whitlams. The Whitlams piano-based indie folk / rock shows are a cultural touchstone in Australia. Since 2022 a reinvigorated Freedman led The Whitlams in a resurgence, touring heavily and releasing two new albums, Sancho and with an Americana version of the band, Kookaburra. The latter line up is called The Whitlams Black Stump, and the album went to no. 1 on the ARIA Australian Country Album chart.

Playing the first show back with Tim is Augie March’s, Glenn Richards. Glenn is the multi award winning songwriter and singer for one of Australia’s most accomplished and well regarded bands, Augie March. Recipient of the AMP, Hottest 100 Number 1 Song, APRA Breakthrough Songwriter and Best Song, plus gold and platinum selling albums with Augie March. He is currently working on a new suite of songs to be recorded with a ‘super band’ made up of members of the Paul Kelly band, Marlon Williams band, The Drones, among others. He works out of his own studio, Dark Satanic Mills Studio in Hobart, Tasmania.

Running times are kept nice and short for the small fries.
