Brookfield Show is Brisbane’s biggest little country show, held on the second weekend of May, celebrating the very best of regional and metro agriculture. This year’s event will be held on 13, 14 and 15 May 2022.
Since Brookfield Show’s expansion to a multi-day format, numbers have continued to grow. The spectacle attracts exhibitors and visitors from across the state.
Activities begin on Thursday evening, when the winners of competitions in art, photography, needle craft and woodwork are announced.
Throughout the three-day event, pavilions open from 9am. Visitors are encouraged to peruse the art, horticulture, needle craft and patchwork as well as the dog, poultry, cookery and guinea pig entries.
Friday is known as ‘District Day’ as the horse events are limited to local riders, horses and owners. Many look forward to the rodeo held on Friday evening with local residents flocking to Brookfield Members’ Bar for Happy Hour and live music.
The festivities continue on Saturday and Sunday with a full program including equestrian ring events, community performances, wood chopping demonstrations, performance dogs, workshops, whip cracking and reptile displays, face painting and sideshow entertainment.
Brookfield Show concludes with fireworks and live music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
A full program is developed in the preceding months and is released in early May.
