Do you need a little luxury for yourself while ensuring the kids are well catered for? We reviewed the Family Package at The Westin Brisbane to see if families can have it all from a hotel stay. And whether it lives up to its claim of being one of the most family-friendly hotels in Brisbane.
A luxury family friendly hotel in the heart of Brisbane
The Westin Brisbane is a 5-star sanctuary in the city centre, designed to balance sophistication with a genuine family-friendly approach. Just steps from Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall, the Botanic Gardens, Howard Smith Wharves, and the riverside entertainment precinct, it’s an ideal base for exploring the city. South Bank’s cultural hub is only a short stroll across the river, and Central Station is within walking distance, giving you easy access to the airport and beyond.
Inside, the hotel blends sleek, contemporary interiors with thoughtful touches that encourage relaxation. Rooms feature the signature Westin Heavenly® Beds and floor-to-ceiling windows that make the most of the Brisbane sunshine. What sets The Westin apart, however, is the way it embraces the needs of families, making even the youngest guests feel like VIPs.

Our stay: Comfort, space and little touches that count
From the moment we arrived, the experience felt effortless. Valet parking at half price made check-in a breeze, and before long, we were settling into our adjoining rooms — one for us, one for the kids, linked by an internal door. This arrangement gave us the perfect balance of privacy and togetherness.
The children immediately claimed their teepee, disappearing into their stash of books and toys, while we put our feet up with an in-room coffee. The Family Travel Journal proved to be a real hit too, keeping them entertained and giving them a way to capture their memories.
Meanwhile, our Westin King Room offered a haven of calm. From the plush robes and slippers to the soothing lavender balm provided at turndown, every detail was designed to encourage rest and renewal. After a busy day of sightseeing, sinking into the Heavenly® Bed felt like the ultimate luxury.

Fluffy robes and slippers have the tick of approval.
Eat Well: Dining that feels like a celebration
Food is at the heart of The Westin Brisbane experience, and the hotel’s dining options mean you’re never short of choices.
Settimo by Guy Grossi is the star attraction. Inspired by the Amalfi Coast, it combines Italian warmth with contemporary elegance. Dinner here felt like a celebration, with impeccable dishes that the whole family loved.

Breakfast was just as impressive, served as a buffet with a spread that ranged from freshly baked pastries to hot dishes and continental favourites. Everyone went back for seconds.

For a more casual option, The Charles’ Bar is open all day and offers a range of options, from light snacks to hearty meals. Its aviation-inspired design and laid-back vibe make it the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch or relaxed evening drink.
Extra fun: The Charles’ is also home to Brisbane’s only “Pup-Fast Breakfast,” where four-legged friends can enjoy a special chef-created meal, an experience unique to the city.
City stays with kids often come with add-ons, including late snacks, extra activities, and little purchases that don’t show up in the room rate. Families often like having a travel budget for those bits so they don’t become stressful mid-trip.
What’s included in The Westin Family Package
When you book the Family Package, you get more than just a room. Families receive complimentary breakfast for two adults and two children at Settimo, the hotel’s celebrated restaurant by chef Guy Grossi. The kids are welcomed with their very own in-room teepee complete with toys and books, along with a Westin Family Travel Journal packed with activities and space for recording their adventures.
The package also includes 50% off valet parking, plus the option to book a second room at 25% off the first, making it ideal for larger families or those seeking a little extra space.

We loved the fabulous inclusion of a teepee with books for the kids.
Feel Well: Balance, wellness and renewal
One of the things we loved about The Westin Brisbane is how it builds wellbeing into every stay. Beyond the spa, the WestinWORKOUT™ fitness studio is a true standout. Located above the pool deck with views across the city, it features state-of-the-art Life Fitness machines, a Pilates reformer, and even an Evolt360 body composition scanner, the only hotel in Brisbane to offer this advanced facility.
Guests can also take advantage of the outdoor fitness space on the Nautilus Pool Deck, perfect for yoga or functional training in the fresh air. For those who prefer a little guidance, the hotel’s guest services team can even arrange personal trainers or yoga instructors. While we happily chose to spend more time in the spa than the gym, it’s easy to see why wellness-focused travellers would be impressed.

A well-equipped gym at The Westin, Brisbane
The Westin Brisbane makes it easy for kids and adults to enjoy themselves. The Nautilus Pool, home to Brisbane’s only swim-up bar, is a standout. While it may sound like a grown-up indulgence, the pool is cleverly designed with semi-shaded areas that make it perfectly family-friendly. The kids spent hours splashing around with the inflatables provided, while we sampled the cocktails from the bar. Both were equally happy with our choices.

Another highlight was the Westin Club Lounge, which provided a quieter retreat away from the hotel’s buzz. With breakfast, light snacks, and evening canapés included, it felt like a little private escape, but it remained welcoming for families.
For grown-up indulgence, the Heavenly® Spa was unforgettable. A signature massage here is more than just a treatment, it was honestly one of the best massages we’ve ever experienced, leaving us floating on air for the rest of the day.

Relax at the spa at The Westin, Brisbane
The Westin Brisbane proves that you don’t need to choose between family-friendly amenities and indulgent luxury. You can have both. From teepees in the kids’ rooms to cocktails at the swim-up bar, from Settimo’s elegant dining to Heavenly Spa’s blissful treatments, every aspect of our stay delivered.
All in all, The Westin Brisbane is perfect for families who want it all: luxury, location, and little extras that make a big difference. We can’t wait to return!
