Educational activities
Nurture your child’s curious mind with a fun and engaging Junior Engineers STEM camp. Junior Engineers has a wide range of exciting online group courses and private tutoring classes available, too. You can even attend in person in Brisbane.
For the creative kids, the team from Wesley Kids is holding a free school holiday Artbeat workshop on September 28. The session is designed to help kids navigate and regulate their emotional states through the arts. The exciting percussion, visual arts, circus skills and yoga workshop is co-led by a mental health clinician and a creative team of expert artists.
For teens who fancy trying their acting skills, head to the four-day intensive screen acting workshop. Casting director, Astrid Wells Cooper and acting coach, Teraze Burke, help prepare young actors for the numerous film and television productions scheduled for filming in Queensland in 2022 and 2023.
Or head into The Strand, Coolangatta for a packed program of superhero-themed craft. It’s time to save the world and spread positive energy!
Sporty and healthy school holiday activities
Mindful Kids Yoga has a lovely school holiday treat for the little ones this spring with its mindful kids yoga retreat. Kids will enjoy age-appropriate yoga asanas, fun and games, simple relaxations, breathing exercises and meditations. With storytelling, arts and craft and musical activities, it’s a playful introduction to healthy living and Ayurveda.
For the adrenaline riders, Dirt Groms Mountain Bike School Holiday Skills is on again these school holidays. Kids will do a 1-hour skills session then spend an hour riding the trails you don’t usually ride. It’s a great opportunity for kids to learn new skills, meet new friends and have loads of fun.
Prefer to stay indoors? When the rainclouds descend, there’s still plenty to keep kids active. BOUNCE Burleigh is the ultimate indoor play area to develop and harness balance, coordination and agility. It has a unique blend of fun, freestyle, progression and development.
Or for some pure, unadulterated fun, head into Paradise Centre these school holidays. Play in Timezone, chuck an axe, walk with dinosaurs or enjoy a fiesta. It’s always a holiday in Paradise!
In Brisbane
As the weather is warming up so come and chill at an Iceworld public session these school holidays! With Olympic-sized rinks at Acacia Ridge and Boondall, it’s a fun afternoon for the whole family.
