Short on ideas and time this spring? Fret not! We have done the hard work for busy parents this spring school holiday and picked out our favourite school holiday activities for kids on the Gold Coast. ↓

 

Gold Coast school holiday activities for energetic kids

If your kids are already bouncing off the walls on day one of the school holidays, head along to BOUNCE Gold Coast to burn off some steam. This epic playground is also hosting the After Dark end-of-term celebration on September 15. From 7 -10 pm, the lights go down, and the music starts pumping for 3 hours of uninterrupted freestyle fun.

If budgets are tight (ouch, yes, they are), there are over 100 free and low-cost activities at the KRANK School Holiday Program this spring. From outdoor sports to performing arts, there’s something for everyone aged 5 to 17 years.

Gold Coast school holiday shows for kids

If you fancy taking in a show this spring, the Illusions Magic Show is sure to mesmerise the family. Get ready to see some of the world’s most impressive Las Vegas style magic and illusions with three-time international Merlin Award winner for ‘Illusionist of the Year’ and ‘Australian Entertainer of the Year’, master illusionist Matt Hollywood. See this incredible show at the Village Theatre on September 22nd, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.

Or for live music, see Australia’s incredible ARIA award-winning singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Xavier Rudd live at Wanderlust in a 75-minute FAMILY-FRIENDLY concert! This gig is on September 21st at 8:30 pm at Gold Coast Convention Centre.

Or if you need some time to run some errands, take advantage of free movies and minding at The Strand, Coolangatta. While you enjoy a well-deserved break, your little ones will be having a blast in a private movie screening, looked after by experienced and dedicated movie minders. Tickets are FREE, but booking is a must.

Something different for Gold Coast kids over the spring school holiday

Oh yes, your favourite mini-fest – KIDS TAKE OVER – is back, taking over HOTA these school holidays. With a program bursting indoors and out, Kids Take Over is packed with free and ticketed workshops, visual arts experiences, performances, and everything in between. The program runs from September 27th to October 1st.

Or, for something the whole family will love, head along to a school holiday session at Holoverse. This new hi-tech Entertainment Centre uses state-of-the-art holograms to create amazing experiences and adventures. Explore the prehistoric planet and the ancient dinosaurs that live there in “Dinosaur Adventure” or take a dive into the otherworldly ocean depths and swim with fishes in “Holographic Aquarium”!

Talking of things that the family can do together, one place that is sure to keep everyone happy this school holiday is Level 1 at Paradise Centre! From axe throwing to escape rooms, the fun is cranked up to 11 this spring school holiday!
