Head along to The Strand this festive season for their packed free program. Enjoy free daily Christmas craft at their magical Christmas Workshop space, get festive and decorate your own Christmas bag and more. Camps and educational activities
Junior Engineers are set to inspire kids this summer with their 2 and 3 day STEM camps. Whether your kid is a coding rookie or budding tech superstar, there is something for them. Classes include Lego Mindstorm, app development, film making, stop motion, robot building with Arduino and coding with Minecraft, Roblox and Micro:bits. If your kids need a little boost in the pool, Kingswim is running a a 4-day program of intensive holiday swimming lessons. Lessons are open to everyone – those that already swim wth Kingswim, and those that swim elsewhere.
And for those budding athors, HOTA is running Kids Imagine | Write like an author. This school holiday camp will see children develop and write stories with help from award-winning author Brian Falkner. Brian is an internationally published children’s author with twenty books published in more than thirteen countries. There is a three-day camp for children aged 9 to 14. And a one-day workshop for children aged 7 to 10.
If the kids enjoy craft, The Craft Parlour is running a cute little pottery workshop where your child can learn to make their own personalised clay animal planter or animal mug.
Things to do on the Gold Coast as a family
To beat the heat this December, head into HOTA for A Bee Story 2. This new buzzy adventure is a uniquely Australian physical theatre show for children and families. It incorporates a kaleidoscope of circus, acrobatics, dance and live music.
Or, keeping it fresh, Paradise Centre is feeling as Fresh As Summer with the juiciest line up of fresh, fruity, and free entertainment, live DJs, giveaways and so much more to keep the whole family entertained.
Feel like the fam-bam has energy to burn? Bounce into BOUNCE for plenty of indoor fun! Kids (and you!) can master your first backflip into the Big Bag learn how to run The Wall. Or just freestyle! Even better, BOUNCE has a special 2-hour Superpass over summer, so you can enjoy twice the time and have twice the fun.
Or, for some extreme fun, head to Gelsoft for their indoor gelball skirmish school holiday sessions. These engaging sessions include objective-based games like Capture the Flag, Domination (with a fake bomb), Base Wars and others. The session offers a safe and fun experience for children aged 8-16!
