Profile: We love our pets on the Sunshine Coast!

House & Home

With pet ownership on the rise, Council has designed interactive programs for children to teach them how to be responsible pet owner and prevent dog bites.

The Smart Paws Pet Awareness education program is offered free to all children from kindy age through to year 6.

Council has also published their first book for young readers, When Sammy Met Sunny – a heart-warming journey about a young boy determined to prove to his parents he is responsible enough to have a dog.

Council is committed to encouraging responsible pet ownership, so the region continues to be a great place for everyone to live alongside our pets.
