Have Your Say on the Future of Pizzey Park Gold Coast

Locals are being invited to have their say on the next stage of the Pizzey Park Gold Coast Master Plan, which aims to transform one of the city’s most popular recreation areas into a world-class hub for sport, community and family life.

Established in 2021 with input from local sporting clubs and community organisations, the Pizzey Park Master Plan outlines a long-term vision to enhance this much-loved precinct ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“The plan we have in mind aims to transform Pizzey Park into a world-class destination for sport, recreation and lifestyle,” said Mayor Tom Tate.

“These upgrades will help us meet the growing demand for sporting and community facilities as our population continues to grow.”

A Vision for Pizzey Park Gold Coast

The next stage of the Pizzey Park Gold Coast upgrade focuses on creating a community hub and celebration lawn, designed to bring together families, athletes and visitors in one vibrant, multi-purpose space.

Key features proposed in the master plan include:

  • Improved traffic flow and safer park access
  • Accessible pathways connecting all areas
  • A “green recreational spine” running through the precinct
  • High-quality facilities for all levels of sport
  • A central hub for community celebration and events

The proposed hub would include a range of exciting amenities:

  • A celebration lawn for up to 10,000 people — perfect for community events, carols, markets and outdoor movies
  • A new indoor BMX and skate facility for both local and elite riders
  • A high-performance centre
  • An indoor sports complex with clubhouse and café
  • An adventure playground and outdoor fitness equipment
  • Upgraded playing fields, multiuse courts and improved parking

The new hub would sit between the existing skate park and pump track, in the area that currently features a pond and open grass.

Have Your Say

The City of Gold Coast is encouraging residents, families and sporting groups to share their thoughts and ideas to help shape the future of Pizzey Park Gold Coast.
