Local Cheerleading team to compete in New Zealand

Ausfunk is a 25-year-old family business that runs cheer, dance and tumble for athletes on the Sunshine Coast. Its aim is to create an inclusive, safe environment for athletes to learn industry skills and build friendships and community. They are respected in the industry as elite competitors.

Ausfunk has often travelled overseas to represent the gym and event producers in prestigious events, including Dance Worlds, Cheer Worlds Florida, Varsity Cheer Comp Hawaii, Duel in the Desert Palm Springs and its most recent comp Jamz in Las Vegas.

In September 2023, Ausfunk Cheer & Dance will take 11 Sunshine Coast cheerleading athletes to New Zealand. The event producers of this New Zealand event, Cheerbrandz are the leaders in delivering a great competition and providing an experience of a lifetime for athletes.

These dedicated athletes range in age from 13 to 16 and are all training a number of times a week for their regular cheer and dance teams, along with training for the New Zealand competition.

The cost of travelling and training for each athlete is over $3000, and the team is actively fundraising to help with the funding of the trip.

Teaching athletes to gather the community around them is a skill for life. Ausfunk would welcome your support.
