NRMA Camp Out 2025 raises record funds for kids with cancer

NRMA Parks and Resorts is delighted to announce the record results from its fourth annual NRMA Camp Out campaign, created in partnership with Australia’s children’s cancer charity Camp Quality, raising more than $223,300 for kids facing cancer and their families. This marks an impressive increase of more than $43,000 on last year’s result.

The 2025 NRMA Camp Out event took place on October 26, when travellers were invited to camp out at any of NRMA’s 50 holiday parks across the eastern states.

This year’s fundraising total was comprised of NRMA’s donation of 50% of the fees from unpowered, powered, and ensuite caravan and campsite stays that night to Camp Quality’s Family Getaway program, providing families impacted by cancer with a much-needed break.

In some friendly competition between parks, NRMA Myall Shores Holiday Park took out top spot this year, pipping last year’s top performer, NRMA Darlington Beach Holiday Park, which came in at second position, followed by NRMA Blue Dolphin Yamba Holiday Park in third place.

Campers across the parks portfolio enjoyed live music and barbecues, auctions, meeting Camp Quality puppets, family competitions, face painting and scavenger hunts, all adding to the fun-filled atmosphere and sense of community.

Camp Out 2026 will run again in October. Many campers are already excited for next year’s event, please stay tuned for the final date announcement.

NRMA Parks and Resorts CEO Paul Davies said the results from the latest round of fundraising meant a lot to the member-owned organisation whose vision is to offer families unforgettable holidays together.

“At NRMA we’re so pleased to see the Camp Out campaign gaining momentum with our members and guests, with participation and funds raised increasing steadily year on year,” Mr Davies said.

“These funds will be a real boon for families of kids with cancer, giving them the chance to get away and have a well-deserved holiday at our parks and resorts,” he said.

“We’d like to thank everyone who camped out or made a donation to this year’s Camp Out campaign, which will really make a difference to the lives of kids with cancer and their families,” Mr Davies said.

Camp Quality CEO, Deborah Thomas says the ongoing partnership with NRMA Parks and Resorts offers valuable help to kids and their families as they face the challenges of cancer.

“When a child is diagnosed with cancer the whole family is thrown into turmoil,” Ms Thomas said.

“Thanks to the generosity of NRMA Parks and Resorts, we have been able to expand our Family Getaways program to give more people this vital break from the trauma of cancer and the opportunity to reconnect as a family and create happy memories together,” she said.

“We look forward to Camp Out’s continued success in 2026.”
