Two big names on the Sunshine Coast – Devcon Property Group and Stockland – are teaming up for a truly special project, and it’s all in support of vulnerable children and families in our community.
Together, they’re building a brand new Charity House in Aura, with every cent raised from the auction going directly to SunnyKids. If you’re not familiar with SunnyKids, they’re the incredible local charity who’ve spent the past 25 years helping the most vulnerable children and families on the Sunshine Coast.
The idea is simple but powerful: a home built with care, donated by generous local trades and suppliers, then sold to raise life-changing funds. As Michael Kain, Managing Director of Devcon, said, “We’re incredibly proud to partner with Stockland and Sunny Kids on a project that not only showcases our commitment to the Sunshine Coast, but also the incredible support from our network of trades and suppliers. Their generosity and expertise will play a vital role in bringing this home to life, allowing us to maximise the impact for SunnyKids and to support the incredible work they do for families in our community.”
Stockland’s Development Director Josh Sondergeld echoed this sentiment, saying, “It’s great to work with SunnyKids and Devcon Property Group on this initiative which will support the important services and programs SunnyKids provides to empower children and families in need on the Sunshine Coast.”
And for SunnyKids CEO Kathleen Hope, the support couldn’t be more welcome, adding, “The generosity and support from Devcon and Stockland will have a profound and lasting impact on the children and families we support. This charity house auction is a unique and exciting way for the community to come together, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to be part of this initiative.”
Construction on the Charity House kicks off in August 2025, with the auction planned for early 2026. Keep an eye on Devcon and SunnyKids’ social media for sneak peeks and progress updates—you might even be inspired to get involved.
After all, when local families lift each other up, everybody wins.
