Pioneer Park, Landsborough

Pioneer Park in Landsborough is a multi-award-winning, fully fenced playground that features a variety of equipment, including a basket swing, spinning carousel, climbing equipment, sensory panels, and a living sensory garden. The Love Animals Story Seat by Dr. Bronwyn Bancroft, a proud Bundjalung Woman and artist, is also located here.

Grahame Stewart Park, Currimundi

Another great playground on the Sunshine Coast is Grahame Stewart Park in Currimundi. This fully fenced all-abilities play space includes a variety of activities for all ages, such as a multi-purpose court, flying fox, and a kids’ educational bicycle/scooter track. It also features the region’s first Changing Places public amenities block, which is specially designed for people with high support needs who cannot use accessible toilets.

Maroochydore Rotary Park, Cotton Tree

Cotton Tree Park in Maroochydore Rotary Park is a picturesque parkland that features a large playground with play elements that encourage children of all abilities to engage in play and discovery. The playground includes a basket swing, wheelchair accessible carousel, and sensory panels. This park also provides multiple barbecues, picnic shelters, and green open spaces, and is home to the Maroochydore War Memorial.

 

Nelson Park, Alexandra Headlands

Nelson Park in Alexandra Headland is a fully fenced playground with shaded pathways surrounding the lake. The playground includes a wheelchair accessible fort structure, swings, sand play table, small boat, and play hut. It also features large shade sails, picnic shelters, and mature trees for plenty of shade.

Nambour Quota Memorial Park

Lastly, the Nambour Quota Memorial Playground and Youth Precinct features inclusive play opportunities such as a multi-sports court, skate plaza, and large basket swing. The playground upgrades form part of a wider play precinct in Nambour, and the layout is designed to enhance accessibility for all.

All of these playgrounds provide facilities such as picnic tables, barbecues, shelters, public amenities, and drinking fountains. Some also offer dog off-leash areas. These accessible and inclusive playgrounds provide a safe and fun environment for children of all abilities to play and learn.
