5 great ideas to keep kids in Caloundra active these Easter holidays

Eeeek, how are the Easter holidays here already? Yup, Term One disappeared quicker than a cheese stick at snack time and we’re already scrabbling for things to do for the kids these school holidays.

Thankfully there’s heaps of easy and affordable (even free!) activities for the kids, right on our doorstep. Here are five of our favourite activities for kids in Caloundra.

Activities for kids in Caloundra

1. Go for a bike ride

Bike Paths in Caloundra

With kilometres of connected bike lanes and footpaths, Aura’s Veloway offers the BEST network of bike paths on the Sunshine Coast. Simply jump on your bikes or grab the scooters and you can safely get the kids off their screens and explore the area together.
*Tip: stop at Mummy’s Cafe on the way for a drink and a bite, it’s got a great play area and awesome coffee.

2. Cool off at King’s Beach

Kings Beach Caloundra

The sky is blue, the days have cooled, so there’s no better way for families to while away a day these Easter holidays than a day at King’s Beach. With an oceanfront saltwater swimming pool and patrolled beach, as well as playgrounds, water play and plenty of food options, it’s free, it’s local and it’s a firm family favourite.

3. Go on a park crawl

Bike Park in Aura Caloundra

Much like the pub crawl of days gone by, the park crawl involves visiting every single one of Aura’s 12 parks in one day. Bring the dog, bikes and scooters, and take the family on an all-day adventure. The kids will love it and will certainly sleep well that night!

Some of the parks feature picnic shelters and barbecues, so pack a picnic and take advantage of the various amenities available at the parks. You can see the full list of Aura’s parks and their facilities here.

4. Get your skates on

Roller Skates

The Rollerdrome Family Skate Centre is offering plenty of holiday roller skating fun this Easter! Every holiday session will feature a lucky door prize, and a family pass (for 4 people) is only $45 plus hire. If you love skating, they also offer a super saver card and birthday parties! Visit their Rollerdome website for more information.

5. Burn off steam at a Gymfit holiday workshop

Need the kids to burn off some energy? (Or need a break to get a few things done?!) Located in the Aura Business Park, Gymfinity runs school holiday workshops for kids 4 – 17 years old. Offering Ninja Warrior workshops, Gymnastics. Acrobatics, Aerials & Circus Arts workshops, these holiday camps are the perfect answer for the inevitable ‘I’m Bored’ moment.
