Preparation meets peace of mind
The package begins with a one-hour antenatal appointment, typically scheduled after 34 weeks of pregnancy. While midwives focus on the birthing process, this appointment is dedicated to preparing you for the incredible journey ahead.
“We talk about what to expect in those early days,” explains Jess, child health nurse, lactation consultant and co-owner of Coast Life Families. “From normal newborn patterns to breastfeeding support, we empower parents to feel confident and informed.”
Jess emphasises the importance of open communication and partnership: “We provide practical tools to help couples discuss how their lives will change and how they can support each other.”
Expert care when you need it most
The support doesn’t end there. Coast Life Families understands the challenges of securing a timely seven-day check-up for your newborn at the GP. That’s why the package includes a dedicated seven-day health check appointment with Jess or Jane, a neonatal nurse practitioner.
“We know those first few weeks are crucial,” says Jess. “By offering immediate access to expert care, we can provide reassurance, address any concerns, and ensure a smooth transition to parenthood. Plus, our appointments are one hour long, allowing families plenty of time to discuss their concerns and give us time to assess your child thoroughly.”

Child health care throughout the early years
The care at Coast Life Families doesn’t stop at the newborn stage. Unlike any other in Australia, this unique child health clinic provides comprehensive services from pregnancy through to school age.
