Expansion into kids clothes a ‘natural progression’
Bespoke Baby has always been a go-to for baby showers and newborn gifts at Kids on the Coast / Kids in the City HQ. The hampers are divine, the quality is top-notch, the mum that runs it is a bit of a business rockstar, in our eyes.
With such a successful business already on the go, why branch into kids clothes?
“Expanding into kids clothes feels like a natural progression from baby clothes,” says Nicolette Collins, owner and founder of Bespoke Baby & Kids.
“I’ve had many customers who loved their Bespoke baby items. Now those newborns are growing, they are asking for bigger clothes. Also, now my babies are also growing up, I want to be able to keep designing and keep dressing my own kids in quality clothes!”
Ms Collins is another of those busy mums doing everything she can to run a business while also being present for her kids.
“I was in the corporate world, but I quickly discovered that a corporate role with a young family is really hard,” she says. “My kids are only a year apart in age and, like many mums, I found the early years tough.”
Six years on and the business has grown from a kitchen bench start-up. It’s now a warehouse with hand printing and her own range of kids clothes.
“Because we design and print them ourselves in our Sydney warehouse, I’m able to have a wide variety of bespoke designs available,” Ms Collins says.
“It also means we can offer fast delivery too.
“I’m always busy creating endless designs and loading them up; it’s so amazing when certain designs connect with parents and they zoom out the door!”
Being hand printed, you can get personalised clothing too.
“Our personalised clothing is incredibly popular; kids want unique designs and parents want good quality kids clothes. So this range can tick all those boxes!”
