Kids shows this Winter
Perfect for pet lovers, The Pet Show 2023 is on at Brisbane Showgrounds July 1 – 2. There will be educational presentations, entertainment, products to try and buy, meet and greet sessions, face painters, food trucks and more to keep the kids entertained!
Or for the aspiring gardener, head to the Queensland Garden Expo at Nambour Showgrounds. This annual event attracts the country’s gardening royalty to the speaker program. With three full days of talks and workshops covering a wide range of topics, there’s something for everyone!
Love magic? The whole family can take a wild ride at The World’s Craziest Science Show on June 28 at Venue 114. Multi-award-winning entertainer, scientist and teacher Richard Scholes (B.Sc., B.Ed) leads this unique show that incorporates science, magic, comedy, mime and music.
Or for a simply magical performance, head to the J on July 7 or 8 for Peter Pan Jr. From the company that presented ‘The Little Mermaid Jr’ and ‘Fame’, Little Seed Theatre Company is excited to present the illuminating Disney classic, ‘Peter Pan Jr.’ Fly to a place where dreams are born and no one ever grows up!
The little ones certainly won’t want to miss Play School Live in Concert “Humpty’s Showtime” on stage across Queensland throughout the winter school holiday. In this 40-minute performance, Humpty and the Play School toys help with the big spectacular featuring starring roles for Jemima, Big Ted, Little Ted and guest appearances from other Play School favourites.
The Events Centre in Caloundra has a feast of fun shows for kids this school holiday too. ARIA Award Winning Children’s Artist, Teeny Tiny Stevies are coming to Caloundra as part of their most comprehensive National Album Tour to date! Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre brings the abridged version of the Disney Classic Frozen to the stage with Frozen Jr., making the a perfect outing for the whole family. And, if you are wondering what to do with your Thing One and Thing Two these holidays, The Cat in the Hat is live on stage on June 30.
Winter school holiday camps and workshops
Junior Engineers returns this winter with its exciting range of full-day and half-day coding and robotics courses. Held at convenient locations across Queensland, there’s something for all ages and interests. They have online sessions too!
The saviour for all working parents, HYPT is running its very popular school holiday program again this Winter. This daily vacation care program for girls and boys offers a different activity each day. From a mermaid makeover to a slime workshop, kids love their days at HYPT.
And Noosa Fair Shopping Centre at Noosa Junction is running FREE school holiday workshops this June/ July. The first week of the school holidays will be badge-making workshops, and the second week will be tie-dye workshops.
For the little groms in the tribe, Bike On is running its fab mountain bike camps throughout the winter school holidays. Catering for beginners through to advanced, choose from Noosa, Gympie or Nambour.
