The spring school holiday is almost here! But have you got a plan yet to keep the kids busy? To cut through the information overload, we’ve hand-picked our favourite events that the Kids on the Coast minis will be at this school holiday.

Family and shared activities this spring school holiday on the Sunshine Coast

High on our list this school holiday is taking advantage of the Sunshine Plaza Play Pass. You can choose from a fab lineup of deals and freebies, all bundled up in a passport. We recommend having a game plan before you begin to ensure you fit it all in then these nifty passports will provide a day of fun with some serious savings.

We expect a few Kids on the Coast pups to be rocking up to the Doggie Fashion Show at Eumundi Square on Friday, September 29th. We love this little kid-friendly market on the Sunshine Coast, and what better way to do something with the kids than to be #twinning your pup?! They are also holding a free treasure hunt on September 22nd, with prizes, vouchers and more up for grabs.

Looking for free fun? Head to Kawana Shoppingworld for two weeks of FREE school holiday fun! Kawana Shoppingworld has teamed up with Little Garden Growers and Bee One Third for some exciting and educational workshops. Or head to Sunshine Coast Museums for some fun cracking codes, hunting for clues and solving mysteries at the Mystery Madness Month!

If you feel creative, the parent-and-child candle-making workshops at Artisun will be a gorgeous way to spend time together. Make your own candle with fun fragrances, colours and toppings! Workshops are held on September 22, 23, 29, and 30.

And what school holiday is complete without a trip to SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast, right? SEA LIFE has a mighty adventure in store this holiday with Paw Patrol. Join Adventure City’s Heroes on an interactive trail through the aquarium to help save the sea turtles from the supervillains whilst learning about these sea creatures and their extraordinary powers!

If you feel like a getaway (yes please!), Kingfisher Bay Resort has a fab offer on until the end of the year – which includes travel during the school holidays! Simultaneously entertaining kids of varying ages and interests is the biggest challenge of school holidays, which is why Rush Adventureland is a firm Kids on the Coast favourite! Older kids can challenge themselves on the climbing wall and swing through the sky on the SkyCoaster, while smaller kids can enjoy the toddler play area or the multi-level adventure playground. They have great coffee and snacks, too!

If your kids are ready to climb to new heights, KidZip and KidZip Junior at Next Level are the perfect solution for school holiday boredom. The expert instructors guide your kids through the epic high ropes course whilst you kick back and watch from solid ground or need to care for younger kids. Ninja Jungle offers a fab school holiday program this spring, with two- and three-hour supervised sessions on its incredible ninja warrior-style course. One is even shop and drop, so you can get those errands run!

Or for the little groms in the family, Bike On is running a wide variety of structured mountain bike school holiday programs for kids aged 5 – 17, whether they are just trying out mountain biking for the first time or wanting to ride all holidays.

Another one we will undoubtedly be bouncing into is Monster Jump at Sandstone Point Hotel. The mobile inflatable obstacle course will jump into Sandstone Point from the 16th of September to the 2nd of October, 2023. And one of our favourites every school holiday is Lazer Zone, Kawana. This school holiday, they have unlimited laser tag from 9 am – 11 am … pew pew!

Swim intensives are also high on the agenda this school holiday as we get ready for another beach-tastic summer. Noosa Aquatic Centre runs intensive sessions every morning, catering for infants through to squad. They have great coffee and free WiFi, too – both of which you will find us taking advantage of over the next few weeks!

All-day school holiday care for kids on the Sunshine Coast

The school holiday/working juggle is REAL! Thankfully, the Coast has several all-day school holiday care options for Sunshine Coast kids.

If you are keen to keep those little brains ticking over, Junior Engineers has an epic spring school holiday coding and robotics program lined up. These sessions are held at several locations across the Coast, and if you work from home, there are online options, too! If you are at the northern end of the Coast, Little Seed’s school holiday week-long theatre program is a beautiful way for creative kids to meet new friends and expand their theatre skills. This time, they will put together The Little Mermaid in a week!

For the netballers, Sunshine Coast Lightning is running a full day of netball fun at UniSC Stadium. This all-day netball clinic will include skills and drills, fun games, a player meet and greet and a signing session.

HYPT is running its epic daily vacation care program at its huge centre in Buderim, a firm favourite for several of our Kids on the Coast mini tribe! With everything from slime workshops to unicorn makeovers, there’s something for every child to enjoy.

And Just Acrobatics is running a fully supervised, fun-filled day of acrobatics, circus games, arts and crafts, and much more at its Warana centre. These day camps are loved by our kids.

School holiday kids’ shows on the Sunshine Coast

We love to take in a show during school holidays! Noosa Arts Theatre has The Pied Piper on stage this spring until October 1. Adults and kids will love this old story with plenty of laughs and toe-tapping songs.

Meanwhile, the teeny tots are sure to spend a morning at the Ginger Factory with A Bee Story live on stage. This unique physical theatre show for children and families incorporates a kaleidoscope of circus, acrobatics, dance and live music. Shows run Monday 25th September until 29th September 2023, 9:30 am and 11:00 am.

And looking ahead… we are all excited for Monster Thrillmasters Spectacular, which is back again at the Sunshine Coast Stadium on November 18! This promises to be bigger and more monster mayhem than ever!  We recommend getting in early for this because tickets will go!
