We are Canterbury College – You can be too
At Canterbury College, we guide the leaders of tomorrow.
From Kindergarten to Year 12, we build a feeling of community, instil a sense of belonging, and guide our students to foster independence and seek their own path. College staff are committed to providing a respectful, supportive, co-operative learning environment for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Our students receive a well-rounded education, both within and outside the classroom.
Our vision is to inspire people to achieve their personal, social and educational goals by providing the best affordable education in an environment that nurtures and promotes self-awareness and growth based on strong Christian values.
Set amongst more than 30 hectares of beautiful bushland, landscaped grounds and sporting fields, Canterbury College offers a serene, modern, and spacious environment where students feel a real connection with the grounds and take pride in their surroundings. Our state-of-the-art facilities and contemporary buildings provide students with the best possible environment to support their every endeavour.
A time for Reflection
Reverend Elroy Mee holds year-level and class masses in the Timber Chapel, which can also be booked for christenings and weddings. Many past students and their families return to the chapel for special occasions.
In 2011, the Year 12 cohort built the unique Bush Chapel set among the trees and built from natural resources, as a graduation gift to the College.
Canterbury College is surrounded by three sporting ovals and six fields housing a range of athletics facilities.
- three multi-purpose courts for netball, basketball and volleyball
- a professional-standard, fully equipped gym on the CEC’s mezzanine level, which is used by staff and students
- A Sports Hall with three indoor courts, electronic scoreboards and can seat 1500 people
- three cricket wickets, and three full-sized outdoor tennis courts and two beach volleyball courts.
The Canterbury Events Centre (CEC) seats around 2000 people and is one of the largest events venues on Brisbane’s south side. It includes a stage large enough for a full orchestra, acoustic walls and ceiling, full theatre curtaining and state-of-the-art sound and lighting.
The Arts Centre includes specialty classrooms, a 220-seat tiered auditorium with professional sound and lighting equipment, a music laboratory, 14 sound-proof studio rooms, visual art rooms and a professional-standard dancefloor.
A Place to Learn
There are two large and well-resourced libraries on the Canterbury College campus.
The Industrial Food and Technology precinct contains equipment to support the study of food and technology subjects and that provide students with hands-on experience.
The Science precinct is exceptionally resourced with classrooms, seven laboratories and a chemical room. Students conduct fascinating experiments with industry-standard equipment.

A Word from the Head of College
‘Canterbury College offers students a holistic learning experience. The experiences they have at the College shape the people our students will become and we want to ensure we give them the best schooling possible. Staff at Canterbury College share the same dream most parents do – students being fulfilled, reaching their potential, and being happy as part of a supportive and engaging community.
Our Junior School provides stimulating learning in a supportive and disciplined environment. Through Middle School, when students are becoming young adults and going through a period of transition, we provide a nurturing environment so students have a sense of belonging and a firm base from which to grow.
In Senior School, we focus individually on each student and their own future pathway, addressing their needs and ensuring they reach the end of Year 12 feeling happy about what they have done and where they are going.’
Mrs Donna Anderson, Head of College
