Profile: The Southport School

Founded in 1901, The Southport School is an Anglican day and boarding school on the Gold Coast for boys aged from Preschool to Year 12 with boarding available from Year 7.

Renowned for its balanced and holistic approach to boys’ education, the school recognises that boys think and learn differently from girls. Cutting-edge educational practices include Leadership Development, Emotional Intelligence and Thinking Skills. They provide integrated programs of co-curricular and academic, with a low student-to-staff ratio.

Students at TSS also participate in an extensive leadership development program as the School has a tradition and on-going commitment to developing the leaders of tomorrow. The School offers a wide range of activities and specialised programmes, particularly in the senior years to allow students the opportunity to develop their skills and experiences. Currently programmes operate through the many and varied sporting and co curricular programmes, the academic arena, community service (Round Square) and a plethora of other wider school based opportunities.

The School facilities are extensive and impressive, providing for every pertinent academic, sporting, cultural and social aspect of a boy’s education and development in the fullest sense.
