Fabulous Fridays in Eumundi Square

While the Eumundi Markets are legendary, did you know there’s a tucked-away Friday morning treasure trove just waiting to be discovered? Surrounded by native bushland, the boutique market of Eumundi Square is the perfect antidote to bustling crowds and the weekend frenzy. Offering a sunny welcome for little ones and a relaxed vibe for parents, pack your smiles and strollers for a magical market experience.

Fridays at Eumundi Square

Trading on Friday morning at Eumundi Market started in early 2017, with the view of providing a relaxed, free parking and entry experience.

“The location is ideal for visitors and children finding Wednesday and Saturday market days difficult to enjoy,” says Jeni Formosa, Manager and Director at Eumundi Square & Eumundi Parkside Market.

“Friday morning is also an opportunity for traders to maintain their lock-up site, displays, stock levels, bookkeeping, and develop fellow trader relations.”

The Friday lock-up market is a private investment focused on supporting the emergence of development-stage businesses.

“We wanted to create a nurturing space for emerging businesses that establish trader bona fide reliability, integrity and interpretation of a reputable business standard beyond the casual interaction of most markets,” says Jeni.

Fast-forward six years, and Friday morning in Eumundi is an experience the entire family can enjoy. Browse the 90 traders at Eumundi Square, and kids can play in the fenced play area and cubby house.

“Browsing and chatting with traders is my favourite activity on a Friday at Eumundi Square,” says Jeni. It’s just the loveliest atmosphere.”
Of course, Fridays don’t stop there because there is the rest of Eumundi Town to explore, too! From the state-of-the-art Caplick Park playground to side-walk cafes, al-fresco dining, historical museum, and many broad smiles of country folk saying ‘G’day’. If it’s a hot day, throw your swimmers in the car, as Eumundi Aquatic Centre is a delightful place to cool off at the southern end of town.

2024 has plenty in store for Eumundi, with a scheduled installation of pedestrian crossings and a major upgrading of public pavements through the Eumundi CBD and surrounding access.
