Wondering what’s on for kids this weekend? School holidays are in full swing! There are stacks of fun activities for the kids in store on the Sunshine Coast!
What’s on at the main attractions
Woohoo, the Sunshine Coast’s main attractions are back to pre-COVID activity levels, and we couldn’t be happier!
Australia Zoo has come back with a bang, with heaps of winter holiday fun. Celebrate the release of the movie Jurassic World Dominion with a zoo-wide dinosaur treasure hunt! Or join the dinosaur dig for the chance to discover your very own dinosaur to keep! Roll up the sleeves and keep your eyes peeled for the special dinosaur egg to get an egg-cellent prize.
The Zoo is also hosting Giant Obstacle Course, where you can bounce your way through tunnels, walls and slides! This free activity is suitable for children aged four to 15 years.
SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast also has a bunch of school holiday activations in place. Its Junior Penguin Keeper program is on this school holidays. Kids can take on the role of a Junior Penguin Keeper and learn about the incredible work the keepers do to care for the beloved colony of little blue penguins. Or go behind the scenes to experience what it’s like to be a Marine Biologist for a day.
Whilst there, make sure you check out the LEGO Brickman Cities exhibition at the Wharf opposite SEA LIFE. There are incredible structures of famous landmarks from around the world built by Ryan ‘Brickman’ McNought. More than 2,500 hours and more than 1 million LEGO bricks make up this remarkable exhibition. Loads of bricks means your little master builder can create and build, too.
Let’s get creative
Winter school holiday means there’s always plenty on for the artistic kids!
Noosa Regional Gallery is holding its Imaginate 2022 Children’s Interactive Art Festival throughout the winter school holidays. This interactive children’s art festival and exhibition is designed to ignite the senses. Children of all ages are invited to discover, play and create their own experience through art!
Peregian Digital Hub is running an action-packed program of creating, inventing and fun for tech-loving youngsters. Take your pick from robotics to 3D design and printing to making digital design to learning how to program.
