Autumn school holidays set to burst with creativity at Museum of Brisbane

From Saturday 4 April to Sunday 19 April 2026, families are invited to create, explore and connect at Museum of Brisbane in the heart of the city. With a program of free and budget-friendly activities, kids, teens and families can discover exhibitions, learn new skills and create unique keepsakes to take home.

From playful paper creations inspired by Stories You Wear: Magpie Goose to hands-on weaving workshops guided by MoB’s Artist in Residence Delvene Cockatoo-Collins, the Autumn school holiday program is packed with imaginative, meaningful experiences. Whether you drop in for a crafty session or book a guided tour or workshop, there’s something for every young maker and curious mind.

Museum of Brisbane CEO/Director Zoe Graham said the Autumn program offers families a welcoming space to connect and create together.

“These school holidays are all about slowing down, getting hands-on and sharing creative experiences,” she said. “From playful making for little ones to workshops with artists, we’re excited to offer accessible opportunities for families to explore culture and creativity together.”

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the Museum of Brisbane is creating more to see and do for families these Autumn school holidays.

“If you’re looking for a school holiday plan that’s equal parts creative, cultural and affordable, the Museum of Brisbane has you covered,” Cr Schrinner said.

“From weaving workshops to playful art sessions, it’s a chance for kids and teens to try something different, learn new skills and take something they made themselves back home to their families.”

Located on Level 3 of Brisbane City Hall with free entry year-round, Museum of Brisbane is a one-stop creative hub for school holiday fun.
