Anyone who has stayed at Paradise Resort Gold Coast knows it is an absolute haven for kids. Between the amazing waterpark, daily activity schedule, and legendary Kids Club, children are endlessly entertained. But this Christmas, the iconic Surfers Paradise family resort is delivering something long-awaited for the grown-ups: a dedicated space to switch off, relax, and sip a cocktail in peace.
Oh Shun Blu is a brand-new adults-only retreat set to open its first stage just in time for the summer school holidays. Exclusively available to guests aged 18 and over at Paradise Resort, the secluded precinct offers parents a chance to enjoy true holiday downtime while the kids are happily busy.
A 16-year dream designed with parents in mind
The concept for an adult sanctuary within Australia’s most famous family resort has been in the works for more than 15 years. First envisioned by General Manager David Brook when he joined the resort 16 years ago, the idea was to complete the family holiday experience so parents didn’t feel left out of the fun.
Brought to life with the backing and investment of resort owner Dr Jerry Schwartz, the project turns that long-held vision into reality.
“Oh Shun Blu is about recognising that a great family holiday should have something for everyone,” says General Manager David Brook. “The kids can still have the time of their lives at the waterparks, Kids Club, and daily activities, while the grown-ups now have somewhere they can genuinely switch off, unwind, and enjoy a little holiday time of their own too.”
What parents can expect at Oh Shun Blu
Tucked away on the reception level, away from the splash zones and energetic play areas, Stage One of Oh Shun Blu centres around a heated 25-metre swimming pool equipped with built-in spa jets.

Parents can look forward to:
- A swim-up bar: Serving handcrafted cocktails and poolside refreshments.
- Tropical lounging: Landscaped surrounds and sun lounges designed for quiet reading or uninterrupted adult conversation.
- Pool-access rooms: 12 newly designated Deluxe Resort Rooms featuring direct, step-out access to the Oh Shun Blu precinct.
A second stage, set to open in early 2027, will round out the sanctuary with an indoor tapas menu and lounge bar.

Even more upgrades for the kids
While the adults-only sanctuary is the star of the new development, the resort hasn’t forgotten about its youngest guests. As part of the broader project, Paradise Resort is also expanding its family entertainment footprint on the level below.
New additions include:
- The Hub: A dedicated home for the resort’s extensive arts, crafts, and workshop programs.
- An outdoor lawn: Built for cozy family movie nights under the stars.
- The Arena: A new indoor entertainment space situated right near the Kids Club and games room.
