Is your child a fan of Sesame Street‘s Elmo, Cookie Monster or Abby Cadabby? They are going to love Sesame Street Mecha Builders!
Sesame Workshop, the non-profit behind decades of award-winning education programming, says it is the first animated Sesame Street spin-off. The fun and educational kids’ program aired on ABC Kids on Monday, October 3.
You’ll find Elmo, Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby transforming into their robot ‘heroes-in-training’ personas. The trio use science, technology, engineering and maths superpowers to solve larger-than-life problems.
The series is animated in a dynamic three-dimensional style. And the series is designed to help kids practice foundational critical thinking skills, while having fun with their Sesame Street friends.
Sesame Street Mecha Builders introduces kids to STEM concepts
Sesame Workshop’s International Media and Education and Global Distribution senior vice president, Whit Higgins, says kids and families repeatedly turn to Sesame Workshop. He says the content is fun, educational and safe, with a whole lot of heart.
“Sesame Street Mecha Builders is all that and more… with giant robots!” Mr Higgins says.
The innovative and timely series allows fans of all ages to engage with their Sesame Street friends, while also practising STEM fundamentals.
Sesame Workshop’s creative and production executive, Kay Wilson Stallings, says Sesame Street Mecha Builders encourages children to take a creative approach to STEM learning.
“Sesame Street Mecha Builders invites children to soar into the sky, shrink down – or grow ‘Mecha Big!’ – to see things from a new perspective, problem solve, and think creatively and critically.”
The program is available on ABC Kids. You can also see it on iView and the ABC Kids app. There are 26 episodes, each containing two complete 11-minute stories.
