New Principal paves the way for innovation at Immanuel Lutheran College Sunshine Coast

It’s a new year and a new era for Immanuel Lutheran College, Sunshine Coast, as this leading Sunshine Coast school welcomes its recently appointed principal, Mrs. Eloise Beveridge.

With over 20 years of experience in Lutheran education, Mrs. Beveridge brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for holistic education to the Immanuel community.

Mrs. Beveridge comes to Immanuel from Trinity Lutheran College in Mildura, where she played a pivotal role in a transformative five-year journey.

At Trinity, she led the college through a comprehensive revamp, obtained full authorisation for the International Baccalaureate curriculum, and oversaw significant enrolment growth.

Immanuel Lutheran College looks forward to leveraging the insights and experiences gained during Mrs. Beveridge’s successful leadership at Trinity Lutheran College.

In a recent interview, Mrs. Beveridge shared her excitement about joining Immanuel, emphasising aligning the school’s values with her personal philosophy.

“I’ve been in Lutheran education for over two decades, and what stood out to me about Immanuel Lutheran College is its unashamed commitment to educating the whole child,” she expressed.

“It’s not just about academics; it’s about instilling values, fostering service, caring for the environment, and providing education in a faith-based setting.”

Redevelopment at Immanuel Lutheran College, Sunshine Coast school

Mrs Beveridge is set to lead Immanuel into an era of innovation and growth. The college is undergoing significant changes, including the redevelopment of buildings and the launch of a new café this year.

Mrs. Beveridge is particularly passionate about fostering a future-focused learning environment.

“Our kids have to be future-focused, and the traditional model of education is just not sufficient anymore,” she shared.

“I envision Immanuel Lutheran College as a hub for contemporary and innovative education, where students thrive in a future-focused setting.”

Central to Mrs. Beveridge’s vision is building a strong sense of community within Immanuel. She emphasises the importance of authentic relationships and understanding the culture of the community.

“Every single one of us can make a huge difference to other people. As much as others make a difference to us, that’s why education is my passion,” she explained.

The initial focus will be building relationships and understanding Immanuel’s unique culture. Mrs. Beveridge shared her excitement about upcoming building projects and transitioning into new spaces.

“I’ve intentionally worked with architects to understand the design and philosophy behind the spaces,” she said.

“We want to ensure these spaces align with our values and provide a conducive environment for learning, where innovation is at the forefront.”

Mrs Beveridge is bringing not just her professional expertise but also her family, including her husband, Laith, and their daughter, who will be starting in Year 6 in Term 1.

“We’re excited to return to the Sunshine Coast, our geographical happy place. It’s a fantastic opportunity for my daughter to start her secondary education at Immanuel,” she expressed.

“We’re looking forward to becoming part of the Immanuel family and contributing to the vibrant Sunshine Coast school community.”
