Sunshine Coast Grammar School principal named on The Educator’s Hotlist for 2023

Sunshine Coast Grammar School is proud to announce that its Principal, Mrs Anna Owen, has been recognised for the second time in The Educator’s Hotlist for 2023. This prestigious accolade comes as a testament to Mrs. Owen’s unwavering commitment to educational excellence and her outstanding leadership within the school community.

In addition to Mrs Owen’s recognition, the Hotlist also highlights the exceptional achievements of Mr Justin Pembroke, currently serving as the STEM and Digital Pedagogy Coach at Baringa State Primary School (Qld). Mr Pembroke has been acknowledged for his innovative contributions to education and is set to bring his expertise to Sunshine Coast Grammar School in 2024 as the Head of E-Learning.

The Educator’s Hotlist recognises the movers and shakers in Australia’s education sector, acknowledging leaders who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact in the field of education. Their achievements span creating new curricula, mentoring colleagues, integrating ingenious teaching techniques, and developing digital tools.

Mrs. Anna Owen’s inclusion in this list for the second year solidifies her position as a trailblazer in the educational landscape. She has been instrumental in fostering a positive and enriching learning environment at Sunshine Coast Grammar School, driving initiatives that prioritise academic achievement, student well-being, and community engagement. Under her leadership, the school has flourished as a centre of academic excellence and has made a meaningful commitment to the development of sustainable practices.

This recognition sets apart members in the education industry as ones to watch and Mrs Owen is honoured to be selected among so many inspiring educators. Leading from the top, Mrs Anna Owen is a member of the Sunshine Coast Council’s Biosphere Community Advisory Group and is a Director on the Buderim Foundation and Independent Schools Queensland Boards.

The school takes its social and environmental responsibilities seriously and provides enriched student experiences while delivering on the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” said Mrs Owen.

Sunshine Coast Grammar School is thrilled to welcome Mr Justin Pembroke in the new year. His wealth of experience and dedication to advancing educational technology align seamlessly with the school’s commitment to preparing students for the challenges of the future.

Mr Pembroke is also a Sunshine Coast Grammar Alumnus, graduating from the school in 2003. He is thrilled about his new role and looks forward to giving back to a community that played a significant role in his own education.
