Across the Region: Thrive Festival
This year’s Thrive Festival blasts off with Into Space, an interstellar acrobatic spectacular from THRIVE Resident Artists ARC Circus, alongside immersive Cosmodome Planetarium journeys through the Solar System, the Apollo Moon missions and humanity’s quest to reach Mars.
Little adventurers can also get hands-on with School of Magic and circus workshops, embark on The Hunt for The Empire, enjoy Shake & Stir Theatre Co’s My Two Blankets, or discover the magic of First Nations dance, storytelling and circus in Living Sculptures: How The Birds Got Their Colours.
And there’s plenty happening for families who want to keep things free, with galaxy painting, face painting, lawn games, scavenger hunts, storytime, interactive science displays, craft activities, fairy bread and rainbow fruit, plus the spectacular Thriving Galaxy community installation created by hundreds of local students.
Families can even finish the week with free evening stargazing on Friday night, with telescopes offering views of the Moon and Saturn, weather permitting.
