Celebrate the magic of Christmas in Ipswich with your friends and family this Festive Season.

The centrepiece of celebrations in Ipswich shifts to our city’s revitalised urban heart, the Nicholas Street Precinct, which will be transformed into the St Nicholas Precinct. The 2021 program includes the magical lighting of the city’s Christmas tree in d’Arcy Doyle Place and the Santa On Tour fleet that will cruise through a suburb near you, finishing with a bang of New Year’s Eve fireworks lighting up the skies across the city.

St Nicholas Precinct
Friday 10 – Sunday 19 December
6.30 – 9.30 pm nightly

This Christmas, the revitalised urban heart of our city will evoke the spirit of the season with a spectacular lighting installation within the Nicholas Street Precinct.  St Nicholas Precinct will transform into an experiential atmosphere of lights, colour and magical moments.  Gather your family and friends to experience live entertainment, movies and festive food. Entry is free. Come and explore the St Nicholas Precinct during the most wonderful time of the year!

Santa on Tour
Friday 10 – Sunday 12 December
Friday 17 – Sunday 19 December

He’s made his list, and checked it twice, now Santa and his fleet of festive trucks are heading to a suburb near you!  With help from the Mt Forbes Rural Fire Service, Santa and his crew will be cruising past Christmas lights and stopping at key parks and locations to spread Christmas cheer.

Letters to Santa

Let your children discover the magic of sending a letter to the North Pole. Visit Ipswich Libraries branches to write your letter and pop it into the Santa post box. Get in quick to allow Santa enough time to respond between wrapping presents.  Join Mr and Mrs Claus and other North Pole Pals via Zoom as they share Christmas stories, carols, and a selection of handwritten letters from the children of Ipswich.

New Year’s Eve
Friday 31 December

Look to the sky this New Year’s Eve! Fireworks will launch in Ripley, Rosewood, Springfield Central and Ipswich Central at 9.00 pm. More details on the locations will be released closer to New Year’s Eve.
