More splash-tastic fun is coming to Nambour Aquatic Centre

Nambour Aquatic Centre is one step closer to becoming one of the most exciting community splash parks in the Sunshine Coast region. The finishing touches are underway, including the recent installation of two giant new water slides.

Weather permitting, the splash park will open in the coming months. An official opening celebration will occur in the warmer September school holiday period.

The colourful new slides measuring 60 metres and 67m join the zero-depth and fully accessible splash pad, which is already open.

Sunshine Coast councillor David Law says he is thrilled to see the Nambour Aquatic Splash Park transform.

“The Splash Pad is very popular with families. We know the slides will be just as sensational when they open in the coming months,” Cr Law says.

“The completed water-wonderland will be a major drawcard for the Nambour area.”

Together with the centre’s existing 50m lap pool and 25m indoor pool (both of which are heated), the new water play facilities will allow people of all ages to enjoy hours of healthy and active fun.

When construction started on the $3.26 million project, Sunshine Coast councillor David Law said the upgrade would help promote Nambour’s revitalisation. The state-of-the-art Splash Park will make the Nambour Aquatic Centre a major destination for the whole family.

Council owns nine centres throughout the region, of which the Nambour Aquatic Centre is one. Its spacious grounds are ideal for family and friends wanting to enjoy south-east Queensland’s idyllic weather.

Purchase delicious coffee and freshly prepared food at the on-site café. The centre also provides Learn to Swim lessons, aqua aerobics and a SwimFit program.
