Sunshine Coast to step up for Clean Up Australia Day

Sunshine Coast residents are being urged to get involved in this year’s Clean Up Australia Day events. Millions of volunteers will take part in the national event on Sunday, March 6.

It’s the Clean Up’s 32nd year. The aim of Clean Up Australia Day is to affect positive change in the community and environment. Started by the late Ian Kiernan AO, who passed away in 2018, the event takes place on streets and beaches, in parks, bushland and waterways, in schools and businesses right across Australia.

In the wake of the recent wild weather experience across south-east Queensland, the event is a reminder of the importance of protecting the environment and safeguarding the Sunshine Coast.

There are a number of Sunshine Coast community groups coordinating public clean-ups as part of this year’s Clean Up Australia Day campaign.
