A young Sunshine Coast resident is making waves in the business world with her innovative store, Calm Kids.
Nine-year-old Jett Jackson has created a range of sensory and calming products designed to support children’s emotional wellbeing.
Her goal is to help children feel empowered and equipped to navigate life’s ups and downs.
“I wanted to create a business that offered something for kids to remind ourselves that we have all the potential to be brave, calm, happy and that we are loved,” said Jett.
Her products include calming rings, pocket stones, inspirational pins, bracelets and essential oil blends, all carefully selected to provide comfort and support during challenging times. Jett developed the “I am” oil blends with the guidance of a naturopathic mentor. The oils are designed to be worn throughout the day whenever a helping hand is needed. The calming rings are designed to distract from other habits and assist in regaining focus.
“I also chose to include the stones in the store as a discrete way to find that extra support in times of need that can be kept in your pocket.”
Calm Kids is available online and at local markets.
In recognition of her hard work, Jett is a finalist in the 2024 Teen Business Awards held by the Young Change Agents for the Tween Entrepreneur Category.
The 2024 Teens in Business Awards aim to acknowledge, celebrate, and amplify the creativity, passion, and interests of young people and their educators, as they create positive change in their communities.
