The new children’s Splash Pad at Burpengary Regional Aquatic and Leisure Centre is close to being finished, and we are already packing our togs!
Construction of the $700,000 zero-depth splash pad is scheduled to finish by mid-December when the summer school holidays start.
“We are so excited at Burpengary to be able to provide this attraction to the local community and can’t wait for it to open,” centre manager Tanya Fletcher said.
The splash pad will be a major addition to the Aquatic Dr centre, where Australian Olympic legend Kaylee McKeown and sister Taylor spent her junior swimming careers.
Belgravia Leisure, which operates the centre on behalf of Moreton Bay City Council, said there will be no additional charge for access to the splash pad.
