The best fenced playgrounds on the Sunshine Coast

Got a little whirlwind who loves to bolt the moment their feet hit the ground? A fenced playground lets them run wild while you relax, knowing they’re safely contained. That’s exactly what the Sunshine Coast Council’s fenced playgrounds are all about—secure spaces where kids can be kids and parents can breathe easy.

Sunshine Coast Council’s Environment and Liveability Portfolio Councillor Tim Burns said fenced playgrounds played an important role in the region’s variety of family-friendly spaces. These secure areas, he explained, allow children of all abilities to play freely and safely, giving parents peace of mind. Designed with fun in mind, the playgrounds feature vibrant structures and plenty of room to run, encouraging active and imaginative play.

Among the newest additions is Kevin Asmus Park at Buddina, now fully fenced thanks to Accessibility Funding. Division 4 Councillor Joe Natoli said the fencing around the 5500m² site has helped create a more defined and inclusive play space. “This enhancement promotes inclusivity and safety for all community members,” he said.
