The countdown is well and truly on! While some have their Christmas shopping sorted and are focusing their attention on Christmas Day fare, others are still in search of the perfect gift. We’re all for avoiding holiday crowds and shopping centre carpark rage, and going in search of those special items for loved ones as local markets. There are still a number of Gold Coast markets where you can check out (and buy) the creations of local artisans and makers. Here are our top picks of the Gold Coast’s best Christmas markets.

Christmas Art & Crafters Market

The Gold Coast Potters Association is hosting an arts and crafts Christmas Market. Join the local community and celebrate the festive season. Browse the range of handmade and stylish homewares, jewellery and other accessories. There will be Christmas raffles, too!

Christmas Markets GC

The Christmas markets on the Gold Coast don’t get larger than the iconic Christmas Markets GC. Get all holly-jolly when the Broadwater Parklands are transformed into a winter wonderland. You’ll find more than 100 stalls selling the wares of local creatives. Get your hands on some gourmet treats and enjoy the festive spirit. Kids will love the rides, and there are also roving characters, glittering lights and everything you can possibly dream of for a happy holidays.

German Christmas Marketta

If you get excited by gingerbread houses and German sausage, the German Mini Christmas Market is the place for you. Here are all manner of traditional German specialties. There are also the best Christmas tunes to sing along to. This is the perfect place to pick up those unique, one-of-a-kind type gifts.

HOTA Christmas Twilight Markets

Get jingly with it! The HOTA Christmas Twilight Markets brings you an evening of festive folly to send you into Christmas with the most jolly vibes… And great gifts! You’ll find artisan handmade gifts, the region’s best gourmet street eats, decadent desserts, bespoke boutiques, live entertainment, Christmas decorations and festive season cheer. Oh, and the kids can get their photos taken with that guy in the red and white suit. Tickets are free, so be sure to register your attendance.

If you haven’t sorted your gifts out by Christmas Eve, save the date — December 24. Marina Mirage is having its last market for the year and you’ll find a whole range of stalls for your last-minute Christmas gifts. Talk about shopping by the seat of your pants though!

Head along to The Esplanade at Surfers Paradise on December 10 and you’ll find a range of one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts. It’s great for kids too, with plenty of activities and live music to enjoy!

The Village Christmas Market

With Christmas drawing near, support your local creative small business community, and soak in some summer vibes while you’re at it! The end-of-year Christmas market at Burleigh Heads State School is its biggest and best market of the year. Stroll through dozens of stalls, discovering new brands and creative makers in the process. The live music and a host of food trucks will make the shopping just that bit easier.
